Amdega is famous for making some of the finest garden rooms in the world. The oldest company of its kind in existence, Amdega has been designing and handcrafting timber and glass structures since 1874, when, under the original company name of W Richardson & Co Botanical Engineers of Darlington, we established a client list of some of the most noble names in Great Britain and Europe. Amdega still retains the traditional standards set by its ancestors - beautiful designs and handcrafted products - now supported by state-of-the-art technology.

Our values of quality and service have established a reputation amongst garden lovers, professional horticulturists and architects throughout the world. The numerous medals and honours we have won at international flower shows stand testimony to this, as do the many Amdega summerhouses and conservatories which adorn the gardens of Europe, North America and Asia, as well as the UK.

Our portfolio of summerhouses is the most comprehensive available, encompassing many shapes, sizes and options to suit all gardens and possible uses. Comprising the Chelsea, Hampton and Manhattan ranges, all products are designed with style, longevity and quality in mind by skilled craftsmen at our workshops in County Durham. Every Amdega summerhouse is made to order and can be installed easily and quickly, as planning consent is rarely necessary.
